It has been stressfull, lot of good paddlers in the pro categorie and I knew I was going to have a hard time but all went well and I’ve won sprint and long distance.
Training + Awesome board have paid off.
I am still improving my technique and we are still improving the boards, next goal is to get a good result at the Battle of the Paddle in Dana Point in october, meantime I’ll take part in the Spanish SUP surfing Championship mid-september, I haven’t been waveriding much since last winter as I’ve focused a lot more on racing and downwinds but I’ll try to do my best !

I just come back from the Paddle Round the Pier 2010, I had an awesome week end, definitly one of the best beach festival I’ve ever seen.
Saturday I won the 20 miles Funky Puffin Euro Enduro SUP Race in stock class on the production 12′6 All Water Race Nidecker, I was pretty stoked, it’s been a tough race !
Sunday I won the BSUPA race on the same board, in stock class but also in front of the unlimiteds !
The course was a short dowwind, I love downwinds ! Thie wind was too onshore to be perfect, but it was fun enough, I would have kept going for a few more miles after the finish !

Last Week end, June 26-27 2010 Anita and I drove to Marseille for the final of the Naish SUP Tour 2010. I wanted to take part in at least 1 stop of the tour and this was my last oportunity to do so. I knew the leaders of the tour would have their new 14’ boards and I wanted to see if I could win on my 12’6 Nidecker All Water Race, those guys are serious paddlers and they’ve been leading the first 3 stages, I was a little bit concerned about being able to be faster than them on their fast 14’ board. But I really trusted on the 12’6 Nidecker, the board is fast, stable, easy and after the 1st race I knew I was faster than the other competitors. I actually won the whole 5 races of the week end, another really good result for our 12’6 !

Next challenge is the Paddle Around the Pier in UK, July 3-4 2010 ….

Last year’s North Point SUP Classic, one of the greatest SUP comp in France, has been awesome, in 2009 I finished 3rd of the SUP race, 5th of the SUP surfing contest and 3rd overall.

This year there was lot more people, it was great to see so many riders, the SUP race was longer and most of the riders had a nice raceboard (last year we were riding wave boards !).
SUP surfing contest was fantactic, the first rounds took part in a very (very very) small beachbreak, the semi finals and finals on a very nice reef break.
This year I won the SUP race on the new Nidecker 12′6 All Water Race, in the SUP surfing contest I almost loose in quarter finals but I made it, in semi finals I got some good waves and so I did in the 6 men final but not as good as I needed and I took 5th, not as good as expected but enough to win the overall !

In Switzerland, a few minutes away from the Nidecker headquarters, I love this board !

I just come back from the Waterman League in anglet.
I made it to the quarter finals of the main event, I was stoked to surf with all my friends, the weather has been cold and rainy and the waves haven’t been really good either, my last heat has been a nightmare, I didn’t pick the right waves and I got stuck (as all competitors in my heat) several times in the inside, I wasted precious time and lost my heat, but the experience has been fantastic.
